NDIS

National Disability Insurance Scheme
NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for assistive technology and equipment that helps eligible Australians live more independently.

Oscar Care is a registered NDIS provider — so whatever way your plan is managed, if your equipment is funded, we can supply it, deliver it, set it up, and support you afterwards.

At a glance

Who it's for

Australians under 65 with a permanent and significant disability who have NDIS funding

What it covers

Assistive technology, equipment and consumables funded in your NDIS plan

Plan management

Self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed — we're registered for all three

What to do

If it's funded in your plan, ask us for a quote. Higher-cost or high-risk items may first need an OT assessment

Are you eligible?

The NDIS supports Australians under the age of 65 living with a permanent and significant disability, providing the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life. If assistive technology, equipment or consumables are funded in your plan, you can purchase them through us.

Not sure what’s in your plan? Check with your planner, support coordinator, plan manager or therapist first — and we can provide a quote to take into your planning meeting.

What we can supply

From low-cost consumables through to more complex assistive technology, we can help you find, trial and purchase the right solution. Visit us in store or we can come to you — either way, you can try equipment before you decide.

Lower-cost items can generally be purchased without a formal assessment. Higher-cost or complex AT usually needs an assessment and quote from an occupational therapist or assessor. If you don’t have a prescriber, we can help you find one.

NDIS assistive technology

We work with all three plan types

Self-managed
You manage your own funding. We invoice you directly, or you claim through the NDIS.
Plan-managed
A plan manager pays your invoices. We invoice them on your behalf.
NDIA-managed
The NDIA pays providers directly.

How it works

1
Check your plan
Confirm your assistive technology or consumables funding with your planner, support coordinator, plan manager or therapist.
2
Choose your equipment
Visit us or have us come to you, and trial before you decide. For higher-cost or complex AT, your OT completes an assessment and we provide a quote.
3
We supply it
We deliver and set up your equipment, and invoice you, your plan manager, or claim through the NDIS — depending on how your plan is managed.
For health professionals
Oscar Care works directly with occupational therapists and allied health professionals to support your NDIS clients.
Request quotes and trials
Directly from us — for planning meetings, your client, the Local Area Coordinator or the NDIA.
Higher-cost AT
We provide the quotes and documentation you need to support your assistive technology recommendations.
Flexible billing
We invoice plan managers, bill self-managed participants, or claim through the NDIS provider portal for NDIA-managed plans.
Hire & Hire to Buy
For clients waiting on funding for larger purchases, we can provide hire equipment to bridge the gap, or Hire to Buy in some circumstances.
Contact us for trials
Contact Oscar Care to book an equipment trial with a Product Solutions Specialist if required.
